Curbside Recycling is Now Easier in Arcata and Eureka!
Arcata Garbage and Eureka City Garbage are offering new "dual stream" curbside recycling services.  Now you only have to sort materials into two categories: paper and containers. See Curbside Recycling FAQs for more info on how it works and how to sign up.

5/6 6:30p City of Eureka Curbside Garbage/Recycling Ordinance The City Council will consider Bill No. 787-C.S, an ordinance pertaining to solid waste and mandatory
garbage and recycling collection intended to help Eureka meet California's 50% waste diversion requirement. Click here for more information.

5/17 10am-2pm Free Waste Tire Recycling Event Residential only, Orick Caltrans equipment yard, 1/4 mile south of Redwood Creek bridge 445-6215

5/17 1pm City of Eureka 2nd Annual Mayday Community Cleanup Halvorsen Park, Boardwalk, Eureka Marsh, Elk River Wildlife Area  Preregister by May 10 for a free tshirt.  Volunteer appreciation BBQ at the Boardwalk with the Delta Nationals afterwards.  Bring gloves if you have them or they'll be provided if you don't.  Register at maydaycleanup.com or call Miles at 441-4184.
